MOSQUITOES
One of our go-to tricks is to fill a spray bottle with Listerine (the amber kind) and spray the site before pitching the tent. It really does keep away the majority of mosquitoes.

– lean aggressively downstream
– put a hand against the rock to stabilize
– continue to lean and use your hand to either pull forward or push backwards to slide off the obstruction
don’t:
– lean upstream, it lowers the canoe ganels or kayak cockpit to catch water and instantly flood.
Left over egg shells and coffee grounds
My grandma always threw all the left over egg shells and coffee grounds in her garden and roses love it! Egg shells and coffee grounds are great for adding nitrogen and fertilizer without obnoxious chemicals!
Put a coffee filter
– in the bottom of your flower pots to keep the dirt in!
Weed Killer – Safe Alternative
Use one gallon of white vinegar, add half a cup of liquid soap and two tablespoons of salt. Shake the mixture. Put the mixture into a spray bottle and spray on the leaves and stems of weeds only, avoiding surrounding plants. This versatile mixture will kill grass between bricks, as well as weeds in the cracks along the driveway and between sidewalk section.
